Pirated DVD Store
This place didn’t appear extraordinary at first, but I got a strangely devious feeling upon entering. Visiting this shop represents the epitome of my personal experience with piracy. It’s one thing to download a pirated movie, it’s another to buy DVDs on the street, but going into a permanent shop devoted entirely to copied copyrighted material is on completely a different different level. A wave of stale cigarette smoke and rows of blank faces greeted me as I entered the net bar. Those not in zombie mode were chewing on chicken feet, cursing in Chinese (wo cao = fuck me) or sucking down tobacco smoke like it was air. My brother and I got the last two computers. Neither worked well and I began to suspect that they were the last two available for a reason. The chairs were comfy enough though.

Thank you! I am pleased that you of all my followers commented on it. My brother went to Nanjing to teach English and while I was visiting him I was inspired to start a blog about my trip. Life is just so different in China in so many beautiful ways that it is difficult to express clearly. This was just the best medium I could think of to attempt to do so.
